COVID-19 Update: At Gastroenterology Associates, our primary goal is the care and safety of our patients. Please be assured that we are continuing to adhere to our strict infectious disease prevention protocols to keep everyone at our center safe. We are following the CDC guidelines and closely monitoring all updates in relation to identification and management of the coronavirus COVID-19.
Our “virtual” office is OPEN. All phone calls are being answered and returned normally, though nearly all staff are working from home. For the safety of patients and staff, our endoscopy center and our physical clinic are currently closed. BUT we are offering Telehealth visits through ZOOM for most patients so you can “visit” with the doctor with or without video, and this is now covered by most insurances and is popular with patients. Please call our office if you wish to set up a Telehealth visit. It’s simpler than you think. We of course are still available 24/7 for emergencies and inpatients at Catawba Valley Medical Center and Frye Regional Medical Center. We will support our patients and their families any way we can during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we will update you as our status changes over the upcoming weeks and months.
A video for installing Zoom can be viewed here.

Authorities feel that detecting adenomas (benign tumors) is the single best indicator for a quality colonoscopy. Our physicians adhere to strict performance standards for this exam. We measure each physician’s Adenoma Detection Rate and Cecal Intubation Rates monthly. Individually and collectively, our eight board-certified physicians consistently far exceed national benchmarks
Gastroenterology Associates remains a leader, both regionally and nationally, in quality measures that matter to you.
