At Gastroenterology Associates, your health is our priority.  We are committed to the highest safety standards for our patients and community.

COVID-19 Update: We have reopened our Endoscopy Center in a limited capacity and are taking extra precautions for the safety of our patients and staff. We are continuing to adhere to our strict infectious disease prevention protocols and following CDC guidelines. We are closely monitoring all updates in relation to identification and management of the coronavirus COVID-19.

Our team members are taking extra steps to keep you safe from COVID-19 while you are here.

  • Screenings: All patients and team members receive a temperature screening prior to entering the endoscopy center or clinic.
  • Clean facilities: We are disinfecting public areas and removing all materials from our waiting areas that cannot be disinfected.
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE): All team members are required to wear appropriate PPE, such as masks and gloves.
  • Masks for patients: All patients are asked to wear a mask or facial cloth over their face while in the endoscopy center or clinic to reduce the spread of infection.
  • Visitors: If you bring someone with you for your appointment we ask that they wait in the car.
  • Social Distancing: Appointments will be managed to allow social distancing between patients. This may mean fewer time options for scheduling your appointment or procedure.

Our “virtual” office is OPEN through Telehealth visits through ZOOM.  This allows patients to “visit” with the doctor with or without video, which is now covered by most insurances. Please call our office if you wish to set up a Telehealth visit. It’s simpler than you think. We continue to be available 24/7 for emergencies and inpatients at Catawba Valley Medical Center and Frye Regional Medical Center. We will support our patients and their families during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we will update you as our status changes over the upcoming weeks and months.

A video for installing Zoom can be viewed here.

HIGHEST STANDARDS

At Gastroenterology Associates, we hold our practice to the highest standards. It is one of many ways that we provide expert, compassionate care.

Authorities feel that detecting adenomas (benign tumors) is the single best indicator for a quality colonoscopy. Our physicians adhere to strict performance standards for this exam. We measure each physician’s Adenoma Detection Rate and Cecal Intubation Rates monthly. Individually and collectively, our eight board-certified physicians consistently far exceed national benchmarks

Gastroenterology Associates remains a leader, both regionally and nationally, in quality measures that matter to you.
